Stephen Chan

Illustrator & Director

Stephen’s love of animation started from a very early age, growing up on a healthy diet of Japanese Manga and anime.  Artists like Akira Toriyama and animation houses like Studio Ghibli were masters of storytelling and became a great influence on his young mind.

Over the past few years, Stephen has been working as a freelance Illustrator & Designer in Liverpool, England. Stephen is always experimenting and pushing his illustration style into new areas and disciplines. Often character and narrative driven, involving isometric landscapes and magical sceneries, his work continues to be inventive and even hypnotic.

He’s one of the founding members of 3D / Interactive design collective ‘Midnight Polygon’, exploring different ways to combine art and new technology.  Stephen is also a part of the Illustrators society, ‘The Mighty Pencil’ and the ‘Designers of Asia’ collective, made up of rising stars from Asian illustration. He’s currently an active member of the Liverpool based print group, ‘The Print Social’ and art collective ‘Brothers of the Stripe’ exhibiting new work regularly around the UK.

His works have been in several magazines and books, exhibited nationally and internationally.
