Teaching the next generation!

Working with production studio Mosaic Films, we designed, storyboarded, and animated this series of 6 short animations aimed at introducing Key Stage 1 and 2 children to some of the aspects of design and technology. Through the narrators interaction with a girl, a boy, and their enthusiastic robot helpers, different topics, from food, fastenings and materials, are explored.

Working with a limited budget we crafted simple yet visually clean and vibrant 3D characters that could engage and appeal to the large target audience age bracket [ 3 – 11 ].

Getting technical...

What could be more fun for a little boy or girl than learning how to build a tent or build a den for your dog? Doing it with your own Robot companion of course. And yes, as you may have guessed - we like robot s here at tick tock - the analogue kind anyway [ not going there ].

We wanted the kids to be centre stage of the exploration and learning. But the idea that the very inventions these subjects can give birth to were assistant to these kids was a great opportunity to get the audience already interested in what Design and Technology can achieve.

Every still needed to be clean and clear, to work for small screens & young minds...
