The Brief:
Conceive and create a microsite and banner campaign to promote the new Spyro the Dragon video game 'Skylanders' launching autumn 2011.
Our Approach:
The game was unique in its approach. Collectable action figures would then activate playable characters in the game, by way of a 'Portal'. Thus we decided to mimic this structure in the campaign, which would be involving as well as informing for viewers as to how the game worked. The game has a roster of 32 characters based around 8 fundamental elements. Using these elements as our structure, viewers were charged with finding 8 hidden characters on cartoon networks' website. Finding these characters unlocked their Bio pages where information on that character was available, from Stats, Bios and game play footage. We also created a virtual 'toy box' where the toys / characters found could be visually stored, shared with friends and printed through collectable pdf's.
